  1. Sounds like it may be best to just leave the US for decent healthcare whether it be universal or simply affordable walk-in care like you received in Taiwan. Both would likely be much better than our current system, though Universal healthcare could be extremely expensive here, tax-wise, due to frequency of obesity, poor health, and chronic ills we have in the states.

  2. Epo is Exclusive Provider Organization As a member of an EPO, you can use the doctors and hospitals within the EPO network, but cannot go outside the network for care. There are no out-of-network benefits. If you are looking to go outside of network you want to look at a PPO.

  3. Absolutely NO BODY loves the Health Care Industry like members of Congress. People are in danger because leadership in the US is dysfunctional. Whips and Leaders are the true crux of the corruption. They were created during the height of Government corruption in 1899 and 1900. They were NOT implemented by the framers of the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence. Congress is manipulated by Whips and Leaders to broker the bills in a profiteering manner to 501c's, corporations and other countries. The myth is Congress is a weak victim overpowered by the large money lobbyist. But the truth, Congress is the tyranny understanding they have a monopoly selling bills and are aggressive at it. You want a bill passed you have to come through them, so bring your American Express card. There is no defensible argument, Congress betrayed their Fiduciary duty. Whips and Leaders should have been eliminated with Antitrust in the early 1900's. Whips and Leaders front run our republic. This isn't a Democracy, it's not a Republic, it's a coup d'état and the Whips and Leaders are the party of guilt. This should be made into a documentary.

  4. Yes, something is inherently wrong with the US medical system when “medical vacation“ is a thing. I also did the same thing in Asia. 7 stitches with no insurance for $18 in China.

  5. I like your videos but the beginning part of this video was dizzyingly boring. And that’s me on ADD medication for the added focus. The scenarios are so vast and so many “if’s” that it wasn’t worth paying attention to those detailed numbers. No offense. It was like watching someone do their taxes. ZZZZzzzz

  6. Dear BTB, as a concerned viewer, I recommend not to go cheap on premium and skinny on coverage particularly if you have amassed above normal wealth than avg Americans. Please review your health care coverage in detail esp without extended cover or group plan now – https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/personalfinance/2017/05/05/this-is-the-no-1-reason-americans-file-for-bankruptcy/101148136/

One car accident resulting in hospital stay/procedure could be a complete wipe out 🙁 Not to mention – if u wanted kids @ any point of your life, birth complications, pre mature birth, neo intensive care stays are astronomical

  7. So I didn't like that graphic at all for your channel BUT I did LOVE your reaction to it. One of the great things about your channel is your sincere and endearing persona. So I don't think you need the graphic and we as the audience don't need it. We just need you!

  8. You almost require insurance BECAUSE the government subsidizes it… if they weren't willing to cover cost, then medical professionals couldn't charge crazy high prices.
same goes for colleges. Once the government started blindly giving out money to people, then the colleges were like "oh, you mean you can easily pay 10x as much???" Then the prices get jacked up.

Remove government and prices would prob not drop at this point, but they would became stable.

  9. And those costs are just to HAVE health insurance. If you actually need to use it for anything other than colds or basic doctor stuff, you have to "meet your deductible." which is insurance code for "pay out of pocket." Last year I had a mammogram, and biopsy and it cost me $2,700 (my $2,500 deductible, plus another $200 once I had met my deductible.") That was on top of my employer paying $485 monthly for my health insurance. Needless to say, I switched from the Silver Plan to the Gold Plan where my deductible is "only" $1,250.

  10. I'm impressed that you gained this degree of financial independence. I am curious about something. Based on the nature of your self employed work, would you be able to relocate to another state and still maintain that job? Would it be worth it to move to a state or city with lower property, sales, or income tax?

  11. I am shortsighted so I was surprised to find out what a hassle it is to get new powered contact lenses in California. Back in Malaysia, I could walk into an optometrist store, get my eyes checked there and then, wait for them to order, then come back again in a few days. Sometimes, they may already have it the store. I can get 3 pairs of contacts (in grey/blue/purple/brown etc) for RM120, so for things such as this, it's actually a lot cheaper and less of a hassle for me to just order them overseas.

  12. Might be just pay penalty if you are healthy….thanks for putting all the dots together…i live in MA guess thats gave me a rough idea how ridiculous this healthcare system is

  13. So in the end we all end up trying to make less money so that we qualify for government assistance? Lol
So why not start letting the government pay our way now and retire on minimum wage.

  14. Insurance in UAE For my Dad costs 16k AED Which translates to 4.3k USD…
And not to mention my dad DIDNT Go even once this year to any hospital so far. and also not to mention the insurance co Rejected CT Scan.
Insurance is compulsory in UAE but it kinda looks like a rip off for Self employed. talking about employees, their insurance costs 200 USD Approx But its worth buying But for Self Employed its a Rip off.

  16. Why is it that smart and successful people get penalized? We are the ones that need to be healthy over poor lazy people to keep the economy going… I hope this is just a Commiefornia thing. Welfare parasites are ruining this great nation. Thanks for the info.

  17. Thank you for your videos. Im very grateful! I have learned so much from you. May you please make a video on how to prepare your own income tax return? What software should I use to file it or where may I get tax prep info from? I don’t want to rely on a tax preparer or accountant for it. Are accountants really worth the cost of their service or I can do it myself? Taxes are due soon. Please help
