  2. Really enjoy all your videosScotty! I do need some help please. I have a 2006 Ford F150 5.4 L V8 with 180K miles! The engine does not seem to be leaking any oil well there is non on the ground or top of the engine that I can see but I have to keep adding oil. I also can smell burn oil around the engine area front of the truck when its running any idea what it could be? Thank you very much for any and all help and thanks for taking the time to make so many amazing videos. Have a wonderful week. -Paul

  3. Diesel trucks last a long time too. At work we have a 2003 F350 with the 7.3 engine with 470,000 miles that pulls very heavy loads almost every other day. The transmission went out at 370,000 but we had it rebuilt and so far it runs great. We also have a 2010 Silveredao 2500HD with the 6.6L engine that does a lot of long haul trips pulling a heavy trailer. 289,000 miles on it and it also runs perfectly. Only down side with that truck is the stupid DPF filter.

  4. Diesel trucks are so expensive and diesel fuel along with maintenance is so expensive I don’t think it’s worth it for a few extra mpgs unless you intend to use em for commercial purposes a gas truck will tow a boat just fine

  5. really heavy oil is a stupid idea. If it is burning oil there is a problem and synthetic doesnt evaporate as quick and has a higher film strenth. the extra fuel youll burn because of the heavy oil isnt worth the couple dollars for a quart. For some reason market forces dictate prices of used deisel trucks but not all other used cars? I wonder if the Kelley blue book value is accurate only for used trucks. give up and stop.

  6. Scotty I have a 2000 Honda Accord 4 door sedan. It was given to me with a sport intake filter. The car runs great and has no engine light on and it actually passed inspection. Does it burns more gas with it or should I put the original intake filter? But I like the sound of it. Lol. Sounds like a racing car.

  7. Scotty, I always use a bleeder kit, it's just a plastic tube and a special bottle that has a magnet. I think it works even better than having two people because it gets the bubbles out by gravity. And of course not needing a helper is a plus. Cheers!

  8. 2008 6.7L got it at 97k miles have 195k on it now fully deleted egr cooler and dpf tuned straight piped 17.8mpg in city 21mpg on hwy got 17.2mpg on a 300 miles trip with a 32ft cattle trailer and 8 cows not calfs in the back diesel forever that's all I drive even my car bahahaha

  9. A 2000 Yaris? I think the Yaris was first sold in the US in 2007. I have a 2008 with 245,000 miles on it and it still runs great. Thanks for all the information Scotty. It has saved me plenty of money.

  10. How would you compare a used, about 4 to 8 years old, Toyota Corolla with a Hyundai Sonata just as old, Scotty? The Hyundai seems so much better, but I'm thinking about getting the Corolla because of your channel!

  11. You clearly aren't a diesel mechanic…. Just don't buy a modern light duty, emissions controlled diesel…. I've spent the last 10 years working on 6.0 and 6.4 Ford ambulances… The best tbing that ever happened was when they stopped manufacturing those engines and we had to buy gas.

  12. Used diesel trucks are todays equavalent of purchasing a 94 civic in 2000 that was owned by a wannabe street racer. Avoid them like the plague !

  13. Mr. Kilmer, why does my SO's Dodge Avenger with the 3.6 pentastar get better fuel mileage with the traction control off than with it on? Traction control off 197.5miles 34.3, traction control on 202.8 miles 27.4. It does make sense to me.

  14. My 2015 half ton 6.2L gas motor gets better milage than any diesel I ever owned. I had an 86 ford 6.9, 99 power stroke, 01 duramax, 04 duramax, 08 duramax, and a 10 cummins. Towing the gas motor is a little worse for milage than the diesel.
