  1. Never use iodized salt. Please taste seal salt or koshier salt, then taste regular salt with iodine and you will never chose iodine salt again…horrible taste

  2. I'm gonna try this right now. I spent the day make bread and the second rise… While I was proofing…some smart Alec thought it was helpful to turn the oven on….and go to sleep. So I come home and the bread that was proofing with no heat.. never got a chance to rise. It was flat and nearly burnt cuz they wanted to" do me a favor". And somehow I'm not supposed to be upset. With your method…at Least I won't have to knead it and get sore arms.

  3. Hi Steve I'm intrigued that you don't need to knead it! what a clever, clean method. I'm going to give it a go but am concerned as you don't seem to use sugar in your recipe as most of the bread machine recipes I've used have sugar. A very impressive loaf. Thank you for sharing your technique.

  4. Thanks, Steve, for this recipe. I just made it this morning and it turned out great. Both my boyfriend and I really liked the flavour and the texture. For what it's worth, I haven't had any luck with other recipes in the past, so this one is definitely a keeper.  Two questions, if I may: can this recipe be doubled? Also, can some of the bread flour be substituted with whole wheat flour, and if so, how much would you suggest? Oops, I guess that was three 🙂

  5. I got a brick when I tried it. Not sure what went wrong. The only thing I can think of is that I used bread machine yeast as that I what I had on hand, it looks like you use quick yeast.

  6. ok Bzzzzzzz. I just made this bread! ok It goes against everything I knew about making bread. It came out perfect as show in your video. So simple you just know it is not going to work but it's a beautiful large loaf.
I have a question and hope you will respond. What would happen if I added a little sugar – 2 tbs and 2 tbs melted butter the your recipe? Would that completely destroy your great bread? Thank you so much. Next time I will have sesame seeds on hand.

  7. Still chuckle to myself when I stir "bbbzzzzzzzzzz"

After thinking about the sesame seeds, would there be any modifications to the ratios if I had wanted to use semolina flour in place of the bread flour?

  8. Thanks Steve! Some questions–what changes would you make to time and/or temperature for baking in a convection oven? Or would you not recommend a convection oven? Also is the texture of your bread a little chewy/heavier than say bakery bread? Mine is and it is good but I'm curious. Finally, what size glass bowl do you use?

  9. Steve, I watch your videos every day because I love everything about them. I'm going to attempt your method in the next few days, and I have a question- I have a packet of Hodgson Mill active dry yeast; will that work in your recipes, or should I stick to the instant yeast you recommend? Thank you for your videos.

  10. Amazing! My bread machine broke down yesterday. Earlier today I was checking-out possible replacements online. Now that I've watched your video, I won't bother buying another! I'm very impressed. For years I made bread by hand, laboriously kneading and punching back and kneading again. Then I bought a bread machine which, I admit, I loved using. You may just have changed my bread-making life for the better! x

  11. My no knead turbo bread loaf is in it's second rise right now. I am not feeling confident about the end result as the dough was quite wet as I tumbled it into the loaf pan. Will let you know how it turns out.

  12. as a matter of fact…my son loved it so well he wants me to make two more loaves tonight…any help would be appreciated. if its natural to come out heavy, nevermind…he loves it just the same…lol

  13. ok, steve, I so love ur channel and ur recipes….I tried this rcipe last night, the bread came out as it looked in ur video, tasted great, my family loves it….used it for sandwiches and toast for breakfast….but what disturbs me is….it came out extremely heavy….is this natural or did I do something wrong?….it tasted great tho

  14. Hi Steve. Does it make a difference whether I use a glass bowl or a plastic one to start? Might be a silly question….just wondered. Thanks..Lisa.
