Puff pastry, also known as pรขte feuilletรฉe, is a flaky light pastry containing several layers of butter and dough .The gaps that form between dough layers ,left by the melting butter and steam during the baking process.

for dough ball
All-purpose flour 3 cups
salt 1/2 tsp
butter (unsalted) 3 tbs
lemon juice 2 tsp
ice cold water just enough to make a soft dough

butter (unsalted & cold) 300g
all-purpose flour 2 tbs

    To all those my dear viewers who complained that their puff pastry didn't rise, First of all you need to understand the whole theory of "How a puff pastry rises"…. Just like "chapati" , puff pastry needs a very high temprature to rise …As you see no raising agents are used during dough making process……, Puff pastry rises because of those gaps that form between the dough layers left by the fat melting and are pushed (leavened) by the water turning into steam during the baking process ….and all this process needs a very high temperature to work…please check your oven first if it is working well..

  2. I didnโ€™t understand how to store finished pastry until ready to use…you said to put it in the fridge, but how do you wrap it to keep it fresh …. do you fold it back up or keep it flat? Love ALL your videos!! Thanks!
